Below are definitions for these European standards.
WEEE: Waste Electrical and Electronic EquipmentDirective 2002/96/EC or WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic equipment) sets specific criteria for the collection, handling and recycling of electric and electronic waste. In particular:
RoHSLaserPoint is also committed to implement and follow those guidelines set out for the use of certain hazardous substances and the disposal of potentially hazards materials. On January 27, 2003 the European Parliament authorized the Directive 2002/95/EC for the restriction on the use of certain hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment. This new directive, also referred to as RoHS , requires that manufacturers reduce the use of six hazardous substances to minimum, acceptable levels by July of 2006. The six substances affected are:
