Un exc\u00e8s de chaleur reste concentr\u00e9 dans une fine couche \u00e0 la surface du capteur o\u00f9 il g\u00e9n\u00e8re une surchauffe soudaine du mat\u00e9riau absorbant. Au-dessus d&rsquo;un certain niveau, cet exc\u00e8s d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie peut causer des dommages; souvent cela provoquera l&rsquo;ablation de l&rsquo;absorbeur. Pour surmonter ce type de situations, la technologie d&rsquo;absorption en volume est utilis\u00e9e. Le volume d\u2019&rsquo;absorption est l&rsquo;endroit o\u00f9 une absorption graduelle du rayonnement se produit lorsque celui-ci p\u00e9n\u00e8tre dans le mat\u00e9riau. L&rsquo;absorption totale est obtenue sur des profondeurs de 0,5 \u00e0 2 mm plut\u00f4t que sur quelques microns: il en r\u00e9sulte une distribution d&rsquo;\u00e9nergie plus lente et une augmentation de la temp\u00e9rature locale beaucoup plus faible. Diff\u00e9rents types de verres et de c\u00e9ramiques sont utilis\u00e9s par Laser Point pour couvrir la gamme UV-C (190-250nm), l&rsquo;UV-A (250-400nm) et le VIS-NIR (absorbeur BB de 400nm \u00e0 5\u03bcm).
